African feast

We had an african project which lasted 2 month. The african people performanced dances and songs with the rhythm of the drums, cook typical food, made african masks for the feast and T-shirts with african symbols and told us something about their culture. We showed traditional dances and sang styrian songs dressed in “Lederhose” und “Dirndl”. It was a great feast!
The aim was to show and feel respect for every person in the whole world.

A house for all those are begging in the streets… for all the kids have nothing..
become a doctor for those who have a pain.. become a prince!…
become a King and give all the money to kids.. go to the desert trainning them how to walk!…become a teacher teaching everything..!

The Nikolaus-day in Kunterbunt

The 6th of december is the day of Nikolaus. The children have made Nikolaus-shoes or Nikolaus plates.
Nikolaus puts some sweets on the plates.

This day the people are eating yeastcakes, called Stutenkerle. In our Kindergarten the children bake this cake themselves.

Gingerbread house

To bake a gingerbread house is a tradition in Austria before christmas is coming. It´s called “Knusperhäuschen” from the fairytale “Hänsel und Gretel”
The dough ingredients are 300g rye flour, 200g dust sugar, 100g honey, 1 Pkg gingerbread herb, 6 spoons of water and many sweets and sugar glaze. On our christmas party in kindergarten we will eat the house all together.
