We had an african project which lasted 2 month. The african people performanced dances and songs with the rhythm of the drums, cook typical food, made african masks for the feast and T-shirts with african symbols and told us something about their culture. The 6th of december is the day of Nikolaus. The children have made Nikolaus-shoes or Nikolaus plates.
Nikolaus puts some sweets on the plates.
This day the people are eating yeastcakes, called Stutenkerle. In our Kindergarten the children bake this cake themselves.

To bake a gingerbread house is a tradition in Austria before christmas is coming. It´s called “Knusperhäuschen” from the fairytale “Hänsel und Gretel”
