Laternenfest 9th November in Kindergarten Kunterbunt
Posted on November 20, 2007 by kiku

Every automn the children in our kindergarten make lanterns of their own. In the Laternenfest-evening we take a walk in the neighbourhood and we sing special lantern-songs. Afterwards we all, the children, the parents and the teachers go to our Kindergarten, where we have a feast. The children get warm chocolate and sausage. The parents get glühwein (warm red wine).
In our area we celebrate this laternenfest, because at the 10th of November is our reformer Martin Luther’s birthday.

Dear Anna, dear children!
The Lanterns give us light to our way… I think it`s something like that. The kids are going in a dark autum
evening and with the Lanters they can find their way. Maybe there is a little symbolic. All the people are going in the darkness, they need some light. I don`t know. – But anyway, to go with a Lantern, ist an old traditions here and the children make it every year.
